The loop control is a significant machine part between the start-stop punching unit and the full continuous roll-forming part. If the punching unit needs to punch, the sheet is not moving while at the same time the roll-forming part forms (continuous) the profiles.

An alternative is a pit in the floor. This is not always desirable because sometimes the machines are moved from location. In that case a loop control could be a very interesting solution which is eventually cheaper.
